Research
Examples of xerogel-based monoliths, thin films, and arrays.
Development of new materials based on sol-gel-derived xerogels; investigations into the molecular-level phenomena that govern the material characteristics and behavior.
Our recent research has focusd in two areas: (i) new molecularly templated xerogel platforms for the detection of medium-sized molecules (e.g., drugs) and proteins and (ii) new hybrid, thin film platforms that exhibit minimal fouling in fresh water and marine applications.
Laser-induced photoluminescence (steady-state, time resolved, and imaging)
